Joyce Shaffer Artist Statement

J Jewels by Joyce is completely hand-crafted with sterling silver, gold, precious metal clay (which is 99.9% pure silver) along with precious and semi-precious stones.  Much time, energy and patience is required to create each unique design because each and every bead is hand-selected by the artist.  I feel I must see and feel each stone before I can use them in my collection.  I can take hours or sometimes days to get the design exactly ‘right’ for me to add the new piece to my collection.  Each design is completely different.

For most of my life I have enjoyed creating many different forms of art-work, which includes my own Stained Glass Studio for many years. I now feel I have found my true passion with each design I create.
